Arrival interview and sentence plan
Soon after you arrive in prison, a staff member will arrange an arrival interview, where you will discuss your life situation, the goals of your sentence plan and your views of the prison term.

The staff member will tell you about the variety of activities offered in the prison and the different phases of the rehabilitation process and the preparation for release as well as the prison practices concerning your prison term.
You can actively ask the interviewer more about the practices of the prison where you are placed. All prisons have an information leaflet for prisoners, which contains instructions regarding the prison practices. You can check the procedures and instructions in the information leaflet yourself.
You are required to participate in activities according to your sentence plan and advance the goals of your plan during your prison term. This also means that you must be active and know the content of the goals of your sentence plan.
The prison staff will assess and support the goals of your sentence plan during your prison term. You will be appointed personal officials, who will discuss with you regularly and add necessary entries regarding your progress in the data systems.
Your sentence plan may include several major goals covering different themes, which you should advance during your prison term. The goals are an important part of the cooperation between you and your personal official. The goals may concern, among other things, a life without crime and intoxicating substances or education. You should regularly ask your personal official advice on how to advance your goals so that the different phases of your imprisonment would proceed without delay. If you intentionally do not advance your goals, it may affect many things during your prison term and, therefore, you should be active regarding your sentence plan.
