Video calls

You can communicate with people close to you via Skype. You have to apply to the head of prison for permission for a video call. After that, you have to tell the person you want to communicate with the time when the Skype call can be arranged.

The video call is only possible if the person you want to communicate with has the Skype application. You need the Skype contact details of the person you want to communicate with for the application for permission.

The prison establishes the video call connection at the agreed time. Only people included in the application for permission for a video call can attend the video call.

VideoVisit

In Hämeenlinna Prison and ward 1 of Pyhäselkä Prison, video calls are arranged by using the VideoVisit service. You can apply to the prison staff for permission for a video call via VideoVisit. Then, you have to tell the person you want to communicate with the time when the person can call you. The person cannot call you at any other time except that set with the prison.
