Laptop.

The use of Skype for video communication will end on 5 May 2025.

After that, video communication between prisoners and their family and friends will be arranged through the video conferencing service (VIPU) provided by the Government ICT Centre.

  • The video conferencing service can be accessed via an internet browser.
  • The prison requires the email address of the person to be contacted, which has to be included in the application.
  • Prison staff will send the date and time of the video call to the email address of the person to be contacted via the Ministry of Justice’s secure email system. The email will include a link to the video system and instructions on how to join the meeting.
  • The prison establishes the video call connection at the agreed time. Only people included in the application for a video call may be present during the video call.
