Accountability

In our work, accountability is primarily based on our statutory duties and our own strategy. The themes of social responsibility are essential parts of our work.

Our duty is to ensure the safety of society by maintaining a legal and safe sentence enforcement system and by promoting the reduction of recidivism and the elimination of social exclusion that sustains crime.

The Prison and Probation Service chose to focus on the following three goals of the UN Sustainable Development Goals:

reduced inequalities
peace, justice and strong institutions
responsible consumption

We promote environmental sustainability together with our cooperation partners, such as Senate Properties and Leijona Catering. Our aim is to reduce our carbon footprint by reducing our energy consumption, modernising the use of space and emphasising climate and environmental responsibility in catering, purchases and recycling.
